My favorite 20's The New Women

Last night was my beautiful Petra's "Hens night" and there was a theme for it.. Yes! My favorite era 1920's.

Since the 20's been my favorite fashion era of all times I thought I share this with you.

After the first World War, a lot of changes happened to the fashion trends and I think what allow us to wear comfortable clothes in it's own luxury way is the outcome of this revolution.
The passing of the corsets and bustles was the first thing to start with.Women could breath now! This gave designers the opportunity to use new fabrics, colors and drawing the new styles like drippy tops and skirts.
Due to the poverty and damages that the World War caused more women had to work outside their houses, so skirts went shorter to give them the freedom to move and be more focused on their job  instead of trying to handle those long and heavy fabrics.
Industries start working on colors, textures and patterns to create new styles also fur and feather became iconic.

Now that the legs were more visible, silk stockings with patterns or in different colors became popular to match the women's stylish look.

1920's is the era with the new women involved, it was more acceptable to smoke and drink in public, shorter hair and make ups went extreme, cropped dresses and you could see more body contacts in dancing and of-course a greater participation in the workforce- all contributed to the new women.

So the fashion had a big jump over 15 years like never before and it has changed from this:

1900's

1900's
To this:

 1920's

1920's
